Three Sentenced to 70 Years for Kadoma Robbery Spree
Three men have been jailed for a combined 70 years over a series of armed robberies in Kadoma, with police still searching for an alleged accomplice
Kadoma — Three men have been sentenced to a combined 70 years in prison after being convicted of a series of armed robberies committed in Kadoma.
Misheck Mutetwa (30) was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment, while Lordshare Chimanya (29) and Kudakwashe Mapfiravana (27) were each sentenced to 20 years.
The trio appeared before Kadoma Regional Magistrate, Nicholas Mupeiwa, on 17 August 2026, with Philip Urayai prosecuting.
According to police, the three men, together with an accomplice who is still at large, Jimmy Mutetwa, went on a robbery spree armed with knives, axes and iron bars.
The gang allegedly targeted a tuck-shop owner, breaking down the door and stealing cash before proceeding to another residence where they forcibly gained entry.
They allegedly stole cash, cellphones, a laptop, car keys and other valuables.
In one of the robberies, the suspects reportedly got away with US$1,000, cellphones, a laptop and car keys.
The suspects were arrested on 30 April 2026 after detectives from CID Kadoma received information linking them to the robberies.
Police recovered two laptops, a pellet gun and several cellphones following the arrests.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has appealed to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of Jimmy Mutetwa to report to the police.
