Bartender Arrested for Killing Customer Over Beer Change
A 27-year-old Kwekwe bartender has been arrested after allegedly fatally stabbing a customer following a dispute over change at AM Trading Tuck-shops in Mbizo. Police say the victim died after being rushed to hospital and the suspect is expected to appear in court on a murder charge.

Kwekwe Zimbabwe — A 27-year-old bartender has been arrested on murder allegations after allegedly fatally stabbing a customer following a dispute over change in Mbizo, Kwekwe, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed.
The incident occurred at the AM Trading Tuck-shops area in Mbizo on Monday, 13 July 2026 at around 6pm.
Police identified the deceased as Marshal Muyuni of Marshville, Mbizo, Kwekwe.
Midlands Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, said Muyuni was drinking beer at AM Tading Tuck Shops when an argument broke out between him and bartender Simbarashe Sithole, over change.
"It is alleged that the now deceased Muyuni was drinking beer at AM tuck shops in Mbizo Kwekwe when he had a misunderstanding with the bar tender Simbarashe Sithole (27) of Mbizo, Kwekwe over change," Inspector Mahoko said.
He said Muyuni allegedly slapped the bartender before leaving the bar.
"Muyuni slapped Sithole with an open hand on the face before walking out of the bar. Sithole armed with a knife followed Muyuni and stabbed him several times on his body," Mahoko said.
Muyuni was rushed to Kwekwe General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Inspector Mahoko said police launched investigations after receiving a report of the incident and subsequently arrested Sithole.
The suspect is expected to appear in court facing a murder charge.
Police urged members of the public to resolve disputes peacefully.
"We urge members of the public to desist from resorting to violence in order to avoid unnecessary loss of lives," Inspector Mahoko said.
