Gweru – Judicial Service Commission (JSC) Secretary Walter Chikwana has urged all justice sector stakeholders to register on the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS), saying enrolment is critical as Zimbabwe's courts transition to fully digital operations.

Chikwana made the call on Wednesday during a stakeholder engagement meeting at the Gweru Magistrates' Court attended by representatives from the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS), legal practitioners and other justice sector partners.

Addressing the stakeholders, Chikwana urged legal practitioners, prosecutors, police officers, prison officials, corporate entities, Churches, trade unions and civil litigants to register on the IECMS as the judiciary accelerates its transition to a fully digital, paperless court system.

He said registration was essential to ensure all court users remain aligned with the judiciary's modernised processes as the electronic platform is rolled out to Magistrates' Courts across the country.

The Integrated Electronic Case Management System replaces manual filing of court documents with a digital platform that enables electronic filing, online payments, virtual court hearings and real-time case tracking.

Chikwana said the IECMS is designed to improve efficiency, transparency and access to justice while reducing case backlogs, eliminating misplaced court records and streamlining court operations.

"Cases can now be managed and presided over remotely, even from the comfort of stakeholders' homes. The days of misplaced or lost dockets are now behind us," Chikwana said.

He encouraged stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the platform, saying widespread adoption of the IECMS would improve coordination among institutions in the justice delivery system, reduce delays and make court processes more efficient.

The registration campaign forms part of the JSC's nationwide digital transformation programme, which is being rolled out across provincial magistrates' courts as the judiciary embraces technology to improve service
