ZAOGA FIF Visits President Mnangagwa, Pledges Support for National Peace and Development

Harare - In a gesture of continued collaboration between the church and the state, a high-level delegation from Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa Forward in Faith (ZAOGA FIF) paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare today, May 13.

The visit served as a formal platform for the church to introduce its new leadership and reaffirm its unwavering support for the nation’s peace, development and infrastructural growth.

Leading the delegation was the church’s new leader, Archbishop Dr. Joseph Joe Guti, who replaced the late iconic founder, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, accompanied by Apostle Eunor Guti, widow of the late ZAOGA founder.

The meeting highlighted the church’s enduring role as a key partner in national development, particularly through its vast investments in education and social welfare.

Archbishop Guti said the church remains a pillar of stability and a proactive participant in the government’s vision for a prosperous Zimbabwe.

Speaking to the press following the closed-door session with the President, Archbishop Guti noted that the visit was essential to maintaining the relationship established by the church’s founding father.

He indicated that the transition in leadership has not hindered the church’s momentum but has instead served as a catalyst for further expansion both locally and internationally.

"This was a courtesy call to demonstrate our support for His Excellency and his leadership, to share updates on what is happening in the Church of ZAOGA Forward in Faith," Archbishop Guti said.

"Just last week we were celebrating 66 years since the birth of ZAOGA Forward in Faith. So worldwide, the Church continues to grow.

"Since the departure, the promotion to glory of the visionary, founder president, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, the Church continues to grow, more buildings, more churches, more members and more missions."

The Archbishop further elaborated on the internal state of the ministry, noting that the transition following the passing of the late national hero, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, has been characterised by unity and progress.

He assured the nation that the church’s mission to provide spiritual guidance and physical development remains its primary focus.

"So there is peace, there is growth, there is development in the Church of ZAOGA Forward in Faith, including the mission of the Church," the Archbishop stated, adding that, "we want to continue with the spiritual legacy that Baba Guti gave us. We want to be a blessing to this nation and continue that pathway."

The discussions also touched on the church's extensive infrastructure projects, which include the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University and various primary and secondary schools across the country.

The institutions are seen as vital components of the nation's human capital development strategy.

By pledging to continue these legacy projects, ZAOGA FIF aligns itself with the government's efforts to ensure accessible and quality education for all citizens.

President Mnangagwa has consistently recognised the church as a vital partner in maintaining the moral fabric of society and driving economic progress.

The pledge from ZAOGA FIF to promote peace and development comes at a crucial time as the nation continues its drive toward becoming an upper-middle-income economy.

The commitment to maintaining a peaceful environment is viewed as a prerequisite for the sustained growth the church hopes to foster through its spiritual and social programs.

The church's leadership also expressed intent to remain a constant source of support for the nation's leadership while ensuring that the spiritual foundations laid over six decades ago continue to benefit the people of Zimbabwe.
