Midlands Show 2026: Four days of non-stop entertainment, business and family fun  

Gweru — The countdown has begun, and the 2026 Midlands Show is promising four days of music, spectacle, family entertainment and unforgettable experiences when the showgrounds come alive from August 13 to 16.

From star-studded live performances and spectacular fireworks to helicopter displays, horse competitions and the adrenaline-pumping Mahogany Burnouts, this year’s Midlands Show is shaping up to be a major entertainment attraction for the Midlands and beyond.

Running under the theme “Value addition key to competitiveness,” the show has something for virtually everyone — music lovers, families, businesspeople, farmers, entrepreneurs and visitors looking for a memorable day out.

The entertainment programme begins on Friday, August 14, when popular musician Trevor Dongo takes centre stage at the exhibitors’ reception and dinner.

The reception will provide exhibitors and guests with an opportunity to relax, socialise and network after a day of business engagements.

But the real entertainment explosion comes on Saturday.

Saturday, August 15, promises to be a major highlight of the 2026 Midlands Show.

Music lovers can look forward to live performances from a powerful line-up featuring Takura, Nyasha David, Samukoko, Baba Gweru and Makki Wacho.

The music will be complemented by a spectacular programme of attractions designed to keep visitors entertained throughout the day.

The 2026 Mahogany Burnouts will get engines roaring from midday, bringing speed, power and excitement to the showgrounds.

As the evening approaches, the sky will light up with a spectacular fireworks display.

For visitors looking for something beyond music, the show will also feature helicopter displays, horse competitions and Drummies, adding variety to an already packed entertainment programme.

Sunday, August 16, has been set aside as Family Day, giving families the perfect opportunity to spend the day together enjoying entertainment, exhibitions, food, refreshments and a wide range of activities.

The live entertainment continues with Enzo Ishall, Nashie Zim, Xiddo and Chimuchengetera Pa Mic.

The day will also feature the glamorous Mr and Miss Midlands Show 2026 beauty pageant.

For families, Sunday promises to be more than just a visit to the showgrounds — it is an opportunity to create memories together while enjoying a full programme of entertainment.

According to Midlands Show entertainment manager Floyd Mudonhi, the entertainment programme has been designed to give visitors a diverse experience throughout the weekend.

The show will bring together live music, motorsport-style entertainment, spectacular displays, competitions and family activities, ensuring that visitors have plenty to see and do.

Whether you are coming for your favourite artist, the burnouts, the fireworks, the beauty pageant, the horse competitions or simply to spend time with family and friends, there will be something waiting for you.

While entertainment is expected to draw the crowds, the Midlands Show remains an important platform for business, agriculture and networking.

The 2026 edition is targeting 160 exhibition stands, with 153 already taken and 24 new exhibitors joining the show.

The exhibitors include businesses from sectors such as banking, car hire, agribusiness, property and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The show will open on Thursday, August 13, with Business and Traders’ Day, while Friday will feature a business conference at Village Lodge.

The programme will also include exhibitor judging and a prize-giving ceremony on Saturday, with Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Minister Dr Anxious Masuka expected to be the guest of honour.

But for many visitors, the real attraction will be what happens on the entertainment stages and around the showgrounds.

With four days of live music, spectacular attractions, exhibitions, business opportunities and family activities, the 2026 Midlands Show is inviting the public to come and experience it all.

“Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your dancing shoes.Come for the music. Stay for the spectacle. Explore the exhibitions. Make the memories.From August 13 to 16, the Midlands Showgrounds will be the place to be,” said Mudonhi.

Mudongi added  that the theme for this year is “Value addition key to competitiveness.”
