Veteran Broadcaster Mukosi Demands US$200,000 From Grant Thornton Partner Tibugare Over Alleged Affair With Wife
Veteran broadcaster, Musorowegomo Mukosi, is seeking US$200,000 in damages from Grant Thornton Zimbabwe partner Kundai Francis Tibugare over an alleged affair with his wife. The legal claim cites alleged overseas trips to South Africa and Madagascar, secret meetings in Harare and the purchase of a Toyota Fortuner for his wife.
Harare — Veteran broadcaster Musorowegomo Mukosi is seeking US$200,000 in damages from Grant Thornton Zimbabwe partner Kundai Francis Tibugare over an alleged affair with his wife, with a legal demand citing foreign trips, alleged secret meetings and the delivery of a Toyota Fortuner to the couple’s matrimonial home.
Mukosi, a former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) news reader, claims the alleged relationship has wrecked his nine-year marriage to Esther Vimbainashe Mukosi and deprived him of his wife’s companionship.
Tibugare, who also serves as Telecel Zimbabwe’s corporate rescue practitioner, is accused of engaging in sexual relations with Esther both in Zimbabwe and outside the country.
Reports say a legal demand prepared by lawyer Admire Rubaya, Mukosi alleges that he has flight schedules, telephone records, mobile phone tower triangulation data, CCTV footage, photographs and videos that could trace the pair’s movements and support his claims.
The claim identifies two alleged overseas trips, including a visit to South Africa from July 15 to 19, 2026, and another to Madagascar between September 21 and 24, 2026.
During the Madagascar trip, the pair allegedly stayed in the same room at the Ibis Antananarivo Ankorondrano Hotel for three nights.
Mukosi claims his wife had told him she was travelling to Tanzania on accounting consultancy business.
The legal document also alleges that the two regularly met twice a week at a residence at 8 Umguza Road in Cranborne, Harare, while studying at the University of Zimbabwe.
In the demand, Rubaya alleges that Esther had described Tibugare as her soulmate, saying their relationship was founded on deep love despite his own marital status.
The lawyer further claims that Mukosi’s wife had cited Tibugare’s position at Grant Thornton Zimbabwe and financial standing as evidence that he could afford to take her as a second wife.
The letter also alleges that Tibugare claimed to have influential connections that would shield him from consequences arising from the alleged affair.
The alleged purchase of a Toyota Fortuner has emerged as another central element of the dispute.
Mukosi claims Tibugare bought the vehicle for Esther and personally delivered it to their matrimonial residence at Crowhill Farm.
The demand accuses Tibugare of taking the alleged extramarital relationship to another level by providing the vehicle, contrasting the alleged purchase with the type of car driven by Tibugare’s own wife.
Mukosi argues that the alleged affair has caused him humiliation and severely damaged his marriage and family life.
“Our client is now living a life of a widower, whilst you on the other end of the spectrum have the effrontery to enjoy her warm embrace...!” the demand states.
He is seeking US$100,000 for injury to dignity, reputation and privacy, and another US$100,000 for loss of spousal companionship, comfort and services.
