Suspected Mtapa Drug Peddler Nabbed at Kudzanai Bus Terminus
Zimbabwe police arrest 37-year-old Danisa Ncube in Gweru for unlawful possession of 16 shrink-wrapped dagga cobs at Kudzanayi Bus Terminus; suspect to appear in court February 18, 2026; ZRP warns dealing or possession of dangerous drugs is serious crime.
Gweru - Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested a 37-year-old man after intercepting him as he received a consignment of prepared dagga at Kudzanai bus terminus yesterday in the central city of Gweru.
Police said detectives from the Central Investigation Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics section, acting on a tip-off, swooped on Danisa Ncube of Section 3, Mtapa, at Kudzanayi Bus Terminus around 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16.
Searches during the arrest yielded 16 shrink-wrapped cobs of prepared dagga packaged in two separate parcels, police said.

Ncube was taken into custody together with the exhibits. He is due to appear in court tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18.
In a statement, Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the arrest for unlawful possession or use of dangerous drugs, warning the public to stay away from drugs.

“The general public is informed that dealing or possession of dangerous drugs without a licence is a serious crime,” Inspector Mahoko said.
He appealed for public assistance in the fight against drugs.
“We call upon those with information that can help us identify and arrest people suspected to be dealing in dangerous drugs to supply it to us. It is our duty together as a nation to safeguard our future from the effects of drugs," he said.
