Man Jailed 15 Years for Repeatedly Raping Teen Niece
The 48-year-old man would deliberately chase his wife out of the matrimonial home after a misunderstanding and remain raping his 15 year old niece.
Rusape — A 48-year-old Nyazura man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Rusape Regional Court for repeatedly raping his 15-year-old niece.
The disturbing details emerged during trial, revealing a calculated pattern of abuse where the perpetrator weaponised domestic instability to prey on the vulnerable minor.
The court heard that the horrific offenses commenced during the course of 2025.
Prosecution told the court that the offender would deliberately orchestrate domestic disputes with his wife, culminating in her being chased away from the matrimonial home.
Taking advantage of his wife’s forced absence, the convict targeted the juvenile victim.
On the initial occasion, he entered the kitchen where the minor was sleeping, forcibly stripped her and violated her.
Far from being an isolated incident, the court revealed that the offender turned the heinous act into a routine.
Whenever a misunderstanding arose and he expelled his wife from the residence, he would repeatedly sexually assault the helpless teenager.
The traumatic ordeal finally came to light when the victim found the courage to confide in her aunt.
Appalled by the revelation, the aunt immediately escalated the matter to the police, resulting in the swift arrest of the perpetrator.
Reacting to the conviction, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) condemned the act.
"The NPAZ warns that perpetrators of sexual violence will be prosecuted and held accountable," the authority stated in an official brief.
