Shurugwi's Roseanna Hall Extends Province's Pageantry Reign
Shurugwi-born Roseanna Hall has been crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026, securing a second consecutive national title for the Midlands Province after Gweru's Lyshanda Moyas in 2025, reinforcing the region's growing dominance in Zimbabwean pageantry.
Gweru - Midlands Province has strengthened its grip on Zimbabwean pageantry after Shurugwi-born Roseanna Hall was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026, securing a second consecutive national title for the province and reinforcing its emergence as the country's new beauty pageant powerhouse.
Hall's victory at the Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026 finals in Harare follows the reign of outgoing Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 Queen, Lyshanda Moyas, marking back-to-back wins for Midlands contestants in a development that has drawn widespread praise from the province's pageantry community.
Veteran Zimbabwean modelling instructor and Midlands pageantry mentor, Mavis Koslek, described Hall's triumph as evidence of a growing talent pipeline that is transforming the province into a dominant force in national pageantry.
"As a Midlands pageantry guru, I congratulate Roseanna Hall on behalf of the Midlands Province and Zimbabwe as a whole for flying the Midlands flag in pageantry," said Koslek.
"I've got goosebumps watching this back-to-back run. Two years, two crowns, both from the Heart of Zimbabwe. That's not luck, that's a pipeline being built right in front of us," she said.

Koslek said the achievement was particularly significant given the province's limited success in major national pageants over the past decades.
"Before 2024, the Miss Universe Zimbabwe crown hadn't lived in our province for decades. Now it has effectively set up shop between Gweru and Shurugwi," she said.
Hall, a 34-year-old model, entrepreneur and content creator based in South Africa, emerged victorious from a strong field of contestants from across Zimbabwe.
Her crowning came during a pageant that also saw 26-year-old Brunette Makanyiso win the Miss World Zimbabwe 2026 title.
Other winners included Virginia Nyambe, crowned Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe 2026; Jemima Mandemwa, Top Model of the World Zimbabwe 2026; Nicole Nyawera, Miss Supranational Zimbabwe 2026; Malaika Mushandu, Miss Cosmo Zimbabwe 2026 and Ruvimbo Njomboro, Miss International Zimbabwe 2026.
For Midlands, Hall's victory carries significance beyond the individual achievement, further cementing the province's growing influence in Zimbabwean pageantry.
Celebrations erupted among Midlands supporters following the announcement, with former Norton Legislator, Temba Mliswa, who traces his roots to Shurugwi, joining in the celebrations after Hall's victory on stage.
Hall will represent Zimbabwe at the 2026 Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico later in the year.
Speaking after her coronation, she pledged to use her reign to promote Zimbabwe and empower young women.
"I want to showcase to the world the very best of Zimbabwe. For the next year, I'll be partnering with many people to ensure that young girls in this country feel loved, supported and empowered," Hall said.
Koslek said her victory should inspire aspiring models across Midlands and strengthen confidence in the province's ability to produce future national queens.
"Two towns, two crowns, one message. Zimbabwe's next Miss Universe might still have a Midlands postcode," Koslek said.
