Gweru, Zimbabwe - The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed that four individuals, including a medical doctor, appeared before the Gweru Magistrates' Court on charges of possessing dangerous drugs, specifically methamphetamine (Crystal Meth).
The accused are Farikai Manjeya (49), a resident Medical Doctor at the doctors' cottages in Gweru; Tafara Chigoya (28); Kudakwashe Godknows Mutata (29); and Tariro Pambwa (35).
Court details say police detectives acted on a tip-off regarding illicit drug activity at the doctors' cottages, where Manjeya resides.
On November 9, 2025, officers proceeded to the location and allegedly found the four suspects smoking crystal meth using J-pipes and cigarette lighters.
The suspects were arrested on the spot.
Police seized the J-pipes, a cigarette lighter, and an empty sachet as evidence.
The quartet was remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.
