Gweru - A senior ZANU-PF party district official on Thursday labelled discussions of Central Committee and Politburo issues as indiscipline, calling on members to adhere strictly to lower-level party structures.
Victor Maride, Secretary for Information and Publicity in the Gweru District Coordinating Committee, issued the warning during a party feedback meeting in Chitepo District.
Maride stressed unity and discipline, insisting that every party organ must perform its designated role and hold regular constitutional meetings at cell, branch and district levels.
Citing the recent annual national conference in Mutare attended by party members countrywide, chaired by the President and First Secretary, Emmerson Mnangagwa, he said failure to conduct such lower-level meetings constituted indiscipline.
"It is indiscipline to talk about Central Committee and Politburo issues," Maride stated, urging comrades to focus instead on branding ZANU-PF at their respective levels and supporting the President through servant leadership.
Separately on Friday, Maride addressed youths at an ongoing Seventh Day Adventist Church seminar in Gweru ending today, Saturday December 20, calling on them to shun drugs and substance abuse.
The four-day event, themed "Rise Up, Lead the Way", provides career guidance, spiritual development and networking opportunities.

Maride commended President Mnangagwa's crackdown on drug traffickers and cartels, noting the drug scourge's impact on youth nationwide.
He also highlighted infrastructural and socio-economic progress since 2017, affirming the country's path toward an upper middle-income status by 2030.
The Central Committee and Politburo chatter comes as the party is currently faced with a prominent issue involving the attempted co-option of Paul Tungwarara, a presidential adviser and businessman, into the Central Committee by Manicaland Province on December 7 to fill a vacancy.
The party's National Political Commissar, Munyaradzi Machacha, nullified the move on December 11, citing violations of procedural guidelines outlined in a June 30, 2025, circular from the Legal Affairs Department.
Machacha also warned against inducements such as money or goods, which could constitute vote-buying and lead to disqualification.
Party Spokesperson, Christopher Mutsvangwa, stated on December 12 that the Politburo would address the matter, similar to its handling of a prior co-option involving businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei.
