In a major endorsement for African tourism, two of the continent's most celebrated nations have been recognized by global travel experts.

A new report from the global travel platform Kayak has placed Zimbabwe and Morocco on its list of the world's best countries to visit in 2025.

The ranking, featured in the latest Travel Check-in report, highlights destinations that offer a balance of adventure and relaxation.

As detailed in a new article by Adekunle Agbetiloye for Business Insider Africa, Kayak's 2025 rankings name Zimbabwe at the top of its list, with Morocco coming in at number six.

This recognition is based on the platform's analysis of destinations that offer a mix of wellness, city exploration and low-intensity travel opportunities.

Zimbabwe: A Top-Tier Destination

The report praises Zimbabwe as a land of "wild beauty and rich history."

From the iconic ancient ruins of Great Zimbabwe in Masvingo, to the breathtaking Victoria Falls in Matabeleland North, the country is lauded for its diverse landscapes and historical significance.

Data from Kayak shows a strong surge in interest, with flight searches to Bulawayo jumping over 80% and Harare seeing a 56% rise for summer travel.

Morocco: An Alluring Blend of Culture and Nature

Morocco is highlighted for its unique blend of "desert magic, mountain drama, and vibrant city life."

The report points to the country's diverse appeal, from the red dunes of the Sahara and the snowy peaks of the Atlas Mountains to the bustling medinas of Fez and the lively souks of Marrakech.

The country's growing popularity is clearly stated by recent tourism figures, with Morocco attracting 17.4 million visitors in 2024.

Additionally, Marrakech is cited as a great-value destination, with a 5% drop in flight prices compared to the previous year.
