Three Midlands State University (MSU) students were dragged to court on Saturday for designing, printing, and distributing anti-government flyers among their peers.

The students, who appeared in court under case number GWE-1166/25, are accused of denigrating the seating government.

According to the state, the trio printed and distributed 12 flyers that castigated the Zimbabwean government. When Senga police station officers arrested the accused students, they discovered an Itel P65 phone and an Epson printer, which are believed to have been used to produce the flyers.

The accused students, Milton Muchayana, Anenyasha and Antony (no surname provided), briefly appeared before Gweru Magistrate P. Mafusire. The first  accused admitted to the charges, whilst the second  and the third accused denied the allegations.

Prosecutor Brandon Ndlovu presented the state's case, outlining the evidence against the accused.

The students were remanded to August 27 in Court 2, pending further proceedings. They requested time to seek legal representation.

"Your worship I request that the accused be reminded to the 27th of August 2025 to allow further investigations,"said prosecutor Ndlovu.
